Guasalmex Restaurant Reviews
Hidden gem- everything was so good! I recommend you try their drinks they are amazing! Muy bueno servicio, la comida estaba muy buena y recomiendo que prueban la horchata y la ensalada bebida muuuy ricos!
I saw this place was down the street after going to the thrift store. They do have parking in the back and their front door is facing the back of the restaurant. I got the lunch special for 2 arepas, a choice of spicy seafood taco of either salmon or crunchy shrimp, a drink, and dessert for $13.99. I chose to get a frijoles, queso, and loroco (which a plant and kinda tastes like squash but a little bitter) and a chicharron, queso, and frijoles. For one arepa by itself is $4.29 each. It's served with a side of curtido (pickled chopped cabbage) and hot sauce. The salmon taco was filled with chunks of moist salmon and chopped cabbage with a cream sauce. I chose to get their ensalada drink ($7.99) which is chopped fruits and their dragonfruit lemonade drink ($7.49). They forgot to give the dessert that came with the lunch combo so they gave me a container of fried plantains to-go. The staff was nice and the place was kept clean.
Tacos dorados de res are delicious! Someone's post about these tacos made me come check this place out and it did not disappoint! I wish sauce had a kick but I will ask for additional sauce next time. Such a humble and friendly staff that work here, truly passionate about their food and business. Restaurant is clean and well maintained with plenty of space between tables. Relaxing tunes play as you dine which make it a pleasant experience.
Came when it first opened for our first time. We ordered Pupusas and taquitos. For drinks we got the dragonfruit lemonade....OMG it was so delicious!!!!!! Stir it first and take a drink, it's amazing!!! We got the chicharrón, bean and cheese Pupusas with black beans and rice topped with some yummy plantains. We also ordered beef taquitos. These were all so delicious. Before they served our food, we were served a starter small bowl of their tortilla soup. You HAVE GOT TO GET THIS as a main. It is the best tortilla soup. So light and simple yet, flavorful. We definitely will be returning as this is our new favorite restaurant. The manager or owner, I don't recall who he was, but he's exceptionally pleasant and very helpful and friendly.
The service is excellent, the waiter who served us was so friendly and helpful with explaining the menu items. It's such a cool place to try and the food was delicious, but a little too salty. We went on a weekday for lunch and it was empty.
